Hyperbaric Oxygen Theraphy

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy

If the atmospheric pressure of oxygen is high, oxygen will not only readily bind with hemoglobin in red blood cells, the content of dissolved oxygen will be increased, transport across capillary walls will efficient, free movement into the smallest areas of the circulatory system will become easier, and cellular activity will also be increased.

In hyperbaric oxygen therapy, purified oxygen is inhaled under high atmospheric conditions, increasing oxygen concentration within the body, and alleviating the effects of oxygen deficiency.

  • The Principle of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

    • Pressure EffectUnder high pressure, the size of gas bubble caused by blood or body fluid decreases and the lesions stop proceeding. Also, stomach bloating is relieved and recovered according to gas shrinkage

    • Effect On Po2 IncreaseWhen Po2 increases, the amount of physicially soluble oxygen in the plasma increases due to 'Henry's Law.' The difference of the partial pressure of oxygen in arteries and veins in cerebrum(the largest oxygen consumption in our body organs) is 5-6cc, and this meets the oxygen demand of tissue cells under 100% O23 atmospheric pressure with physically dissolved O2 alone. Therefore, sudden hypoxia of tissue can be relieved.
